According CeeLo Green: Cardi B and Megan The Stallion’s “WAP” is “Sheer Savagery”

Cardi B and Megan The Stallion are far from the first female rappers to embrace (and arguably flaunt) their sexuality. In the typically hyper-masculine and oftentimes hyper-misogynistic genre of Hip-hop, pioneering, sex-positive female MC’s like Lil Kim, Trina, (her nemesis) Khia and Jackie-O have spat in great detail about the impressiveness of their nether-regions. On occasion, they take it a step further by challenging the virility of the men who fantasize about bedding them; however for one rapper, who’s legendary in his one right, Cardi and Meg’s new single “WAP” is a step too far.

In an interview with Far Out magazine, the Dungeon Family rapper said, “A lot of music today is very unfortunate and disappointing on a personal and moral level.” The Atlanta native went on to recall, “There was once a time when we were savvy enough to code certain things. We could express to those it was meant for with the style of language we used. But now music is shameless, it is sheer savagery.”

Though he went on to express an understanding of “… the independent woman and being in control, the divine femininity and sexual expression,” he asserts that the approach taken by Cardi B and Megan The Stallion “feels desperate,” and argues that Nicki Minaj, whom he refers to as a Head of State, “could be effective in so many other constructive ways…”

Megan Thee Stallion is carrying her Hot Girl Summer of 2019 into 2020 as she releases her second high-profile collaboration of the year.

After linking with Beyoncé for their legendary “Savage (Remix),” the Houston rapper tapped another Hottie, Cardi B, for their highly anticipated single “WAP.”

Accompanying the single release on Friday (August 7) the two twerk-tastic rappers also unveiled a music video that featured their tantalizing lyrics, a luxurious mansion with two lifesize statues of Cardi and Meg and a roster of special guests making grand appearances including Kylie Jenner.

ne of the most controversial FBI raids in American history is coming to the big screen.

The official trailer for Judas and the Black Messiah, dropped on Thursday (August 6). Based on true events, the film will tell the story about the assassination of Black Panther Party leader and chairman, Fred Hampton.

“You can murder a revolutionary, but you can’t murder a revolution,” says Hampton, at the start of the trailer.

Under the Warner Bros. banner and directed by Shaka King, Oscar-nominated actor Daniel Kaluuya will star as Hampton alongside Lakeith Stanfield who will play William O’Neal, an FBI informant whose betrayal ultimately leads to Hampton’s killing.

The trailer shows the contrast between Hampton and O’Neal as the Black Panther Party leader as he is seen hosting meetings and reciting powerful chants while O’Neal is shown watching his every move.

Meanwhile, celebrities, guests, and former employees have accused DeGeneres of, essentially, being mean—an allegation that, while far from criminal, runs counter to the brand that’s defined her career. WarnerMedia has since launched an investigation into the workplace at The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and at least one producer is expected to resign.
